The world in which we live. If your not with the runners...you're with the terrorists? So how much of a chance do you give this case in a court of law?
I'm the first commentor. OK this is a takeoff of what George Bush said which was 'if you're not with us then you're with the terrorists' which means if you don't want freedom and peace then you might as well go hunt down Osama Binladen and become best pals with him. Everything in a court case is determined on how the jury/his or her honor perceives the interpretations made by the prosecuter and the defense. This court case would be treated like any other court case and it would be all on how the case was interpreted and then perceived. It would have all the chance like any other case. Most people would probably want the freedom and peace but the jury could be swayed any way.
I think that the city will make an example out of these siblings by making them a settlement just due to the shier size of police they used to find out that it was only flour. I don't believe that this case will proceed any further outside of Connecticut in its present state. I believe if Conn. continues this in the court I believe that the siblings will take it up to a higher level in the fact that they did nothing wrong. But I believe that the city will make a settlement outside of court and have an agreement that no further powder shall be sprinkled. But I personally do not see this as becoming, in its current state, a big case. However if continued that far I believe that the siblings will win over conn.
I have to disagree with the first comment. If a jury really takes this seriously, as in the case of the twin towers and Osama, I'd be shocked! I can't see this case becoming anything serious. I agree with the second comment in that it will most likely end up a settlement, and if not, the siblings would win.
I agree with Robert Marshall. People are blowing this incident WAY out of proportion. Yeah, they should have thought about what they were doing before they spread flour all over a parking lot considering the extreme paranoia of our world today, but since this kind of thing falls under the "idiot" catagory, one should not expect them to have been completely sober when they did this. As for Bush, he should have thought about what he said before he said it. He didn't consider that there might be people in the world that don't agree with the war and what the US is doing or with terrorism either, like me. But I'm not entirely sure how that comment relates to something that could be used on "The World's Worst Criminals" on the John-Boy and Billy Show. But that's just me.
