The reports are showing that Mitt Romney won the Michigan primary.
One down, three to go.
A Republican strategists yesterday on NPR was talking about the 4 major GOP candidates and an analogy to the NCAA Final 4.
His analogy was this. Each of the 4 major GOP candidates are in a must win situation in the next few primaries/caususes.
1) Romney must win Michigan
2) Huckabee must win South Carolina
3) McCain must win Nevada
4) Giuliani must win Florida
Any loss by the candidate in these 4 states spells disaster in the national race.
Let's watch and see how this pundit does on this analysis.
I think I just liked the NCAA Final 4 connection!

This doesn't really excite me. I don't see why a loss in any of the certain states mentioned for the said candidates would equal disaster.
The chances of a republican winning the election anyway are slimmer than usual because of how popular Clinton and Obama are. There's a good chance that the nation will see either its first woman (or half woman) president or its first black (or half black) president.
I'm not saying that a democratic win is a sure thing. By all means, it's not.
I'm just saying that because of all the press...there are different things to consider this time.
The nation might not be ready for a black president. There's still so much racism.
I think it'd be nice, though.
He could do a lot of good.
Though I don't ususally follow these candidates, you could not be more right. A loss for any of these candidates in these key states would cause much distress within the campaign. However, like I said, I'm really following the Democrats and not the Republicans.
The NCAA was a good reference...Go Duke! Tarheel fans can jump off a cliff.
Mitt Romney seems to be another George Bush to me. If he is elected, I believe the US will never be taken seriously again.
However, Huckabee is one of the scariest candidates I have ever seen. Announcing "Jesus" as his Vice President? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
Out of all the Republican candidates, McCain, in my opinion, is the lesser of all the evils.
Regardless, let's hope a Republican isn't elected President!! :)

My opinion in this election is i am glad that Mitt Wins but they don't really watch the candidates talk on tv. i hope it goes good for them. You know what i been hearing that people want Mitt to win so i will go for him. Mitt won the primary but Romney must win Michigan but it seems that MITT has it. So Go MITT!
As long as a republican candidate who believes in evolution wins, I will be happy.

McCain got South Carolina, but lost Nevada, and it seems he is still going strong. Huckabee probably wont make it now though.
I want to see how Giuliani will do. I don't think he will be able to apply NYC politics to national politics as well as he hopes.

I really don't believe that either of the two parties are excellent, or even slightly good, choices for the presidency. I think that the two-party system is not working anymore(if it ever was) because it prevents any better candidate from being elected because people focus so much on their individual parties rather than the actual people running.
If a democrat is going to win the presidency I would root for Barack Obama because quite frankly I cannot stand Hillary or John Edwards, but if a Republican is going to win I'd just as soon have it be Rudy Guiliani. I personally have no faith that any of the candidates will be effective if they win the presidency but I named the two lesser of the evils(in my humble opinion).
I swear, all this media over everything has turned me quite apathetic...
