"Alcohol Law", "Tobacco Law", and a "Firearm Law" all in the last week...WOW!!! Aren't we headed in the right direction for a safe country. Making it easier to buy alcohol at a closer place, Senate passing the bill to "take your gun to work"(as long as you keep it in your locked vehicle), and raising prices on tobacco...come on now don't you think that's a lot to handle in a week? I think everyone is going a little bit wacko.
I blame The Palace! haha. I think it's prospective opening has engendered a bold feeling of change among Lubbockites. I mean, we can't open a family-friendly bikini louge without modifying all the other laws regarding FUN.
yeah. It sucks, but in the long run it will help. The government needs the help of the people in this recession, and i'm willing to pay more for such items. It gets ugly before it gets better and it always gets better.
In response to this statement I say welcome to Texas! Now that alcohol is closer to us to buy there will be more car wrecks in less time. And now we can have bring your gun to work day...everyday. The gun law makes no sense. For example, if you worked for a bank and someone tries to rob the bank, you can't shoot them when it's actually needed to because that gun that you brought to work is in the back of your car. It's not like you can just walk outside while being robbed, go to your car, grab your gun, then walk back inside and shoot the robber. All I know is there arevgoing to be many flaws with these laws
well i think it is kinda stupid because they should have had these laws a while back. I guess they are trying to make up and make our country better but these laws are still wack....
americans run on these items so laws and ground rules need to be set which in turn will help the economy in some way. rite?! either way thats a lot to handle in a week.
It's very surprising to me that alcohol sales may be allowed within the city limits of Lubbock. I'm not against the idea, but I always believed that Lubbock was way more conservative than to even consider that. As the times are changing and since this recession has begun, it seems to me, that America's morals are starting to go down hill.
On a random note, I drove past the palace the other day. That place just looks plain creepy.
Hahaha Good stuff! I love this state! Weird yet appropriate in the long run. Like Menaka mentioned It's all because Palace. Since tight fitting bikinis are family fun now, might as well establish these laws. haha
I'm with Menaka on this. What kind of place would the palace be, if the women in their tight fitting bikini's had to go to work WITHOUT guns? I mean, that's just really negligent behavior. So in the end this all just adds to the safety and well being of our bikini bearing, oh so talented, shining stars. Gun toting, expensive cigarette smoking, instant alcohol accessing babez FTW.
I didn't know that. I think this is a good sign for the country. We can now use the new tax money on tobacco to help out our struggling economy. I would be interested in wondering what the other two laws were about. I am sure they are more tax based laws that try to stimulate the US.
A should have been Hippie. Me and my posse roll in the huboplex where we eat my homemade salsa, love the Red Red Raiders and dish out smack about everything and everyone. No soft skins allowed! "Basically a religious person but with some clear obedience and discipline issues." - M. Leach

All these laws are a little overwhelming-
I think the alcohol law is a sign that Lubbock has realized that prohibition is over and it's time to go a little crazy and allow people to buy some.

-sigh- don't we have more important things to concentrate on than this?
Yes i have notice and to be honest it is a little overwhelming.
