I would be interested to know whether the number of people involved in the poll has increased or not.

Notice how during the heat of the cold war presidential approval was highest Eisenhower and Kennedy 73 and 83 respectively and presidential disapproval was lowest 10 and 5. Nixon won the first term of his presidency by an extremely narrow margin 43.4% of the popular vote, but still had 62% approval for his first 100 days. Notice how after Nixon's presidency and the water gate scandal Presidential approval stayed at around 60%. This data shows how Watergate and Vietnam affected public view of United States. Notice how presidential disapproval soared after Watergate from 15 - 18 - 21 - 22 - 37 - 29. Given that the first 100 days of a 4 year term is about 6% of a presidents time in office the public is still picturing past presidents and the glory of the campaign promises instead of the actual man and his actual policies.

I'm optomistic about Obama. I think he'll follow through on most of his promises. I also understand why some people don't like him(cause the Jim Crowe years were some of the best years...) but humans can only move forward and do the best they can, and Obama's only human.

I think that this is pretty accurate because Obama could not get America to the point that it needed to be in in just 100 days. however, i think more people should have been no opinion. Over all i thinkm that Obama is doing fine and i think that MY TEAM SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!!

I say that its a fair rating for just the first hundred days. Im really hoping that it will go up and not go down.

I think our president is trying his best to do his job as the leader of the United States but at the same time he is facing many big issues that many other presidents never had to endure. So Obama will have some problems facings those issues but as time goes by he will learn how to deal and solve the issues.

So let me get this straight, Obama has a lower approval rating than Bush? I guess people are starting to get smart and realize they voted wrong. And Fox is closer to the middle on this? You know more people dislike him than even the Right-Wing thought they could get away with saying. I pray for America when we are already tiring of him after one hundred days. If Biden and Hillary weren't next in line you could wish he would get impeached and removed or resign.

Wow, I had no idea Obama's approval rating was so low. I imagine this is because of the financial crisis we are in, but that's not really his fault. It's just interesting because during the campaign, everyone was all "Obama this" and "Obama that" so you'd think his approval rating would at least be higher than Bush's!!!

I'm actually surprised at how many people are approving Obama. I thought everybody would be pissed once he started taking money from the working class with the tobacco taxes, even though he clearly said he would never tax the middle class. I'm glad americans aren't expecting immediate changes, because it takes time, and lets just say Obama's first 100 days haven't been the most successful days ever.

I think his approval rating so far is pretty good considering the many problems our country is facing right now and people should give him credit for taking on these problems.

I am not sure why Obama is not at least 80% approval. He has come in and only helped our country. He is doing everything right and nothing wrong or anything that people can look down upon. He is a president that will be good for us if he continues the path he is on, and he will lead our nation to less debt by creating jobs.

Well good for him. Can't make everyone happy, but this is a good start. I like the fact that he's made progress on his campaign promises. Granted, not everyone may like this progress (the stimulus in particular), but he's advancing the country in ways that he believes are best, and I respect him for that.

I agree with the approval rating it is pretty neutral

I can't say that I understand this to well but it looks pretty impressive that his approval rate beats everything else.

So far it seems that America approves of Obama just as much as they have other presidents. We'll see, after all its only the first 100 days. Who knows what could happen.

Ummm to me these are just numbers. They really dont mean nothing to me. I personally think president obama is doing just fine!!!! These numbers do nothing for him,its more of what he ends up doing in the long run and so far hes doing great. So his numbers are kinda low, it doesnt mean he sucks or anything, just give him time he hasnt screwed up so far so i dont know what the big deals about.
