I love watching these kinds of thing because they put a new spin on what the perception of popular matters is. Though the comments made on these shows are usually twisted, they are still very entertaining.

I'm a huge fan of things like this because they keep politicians from taking themselves too seriously. Obiously, the way that late night talk shows present the facts is not very accurate, but it is always nice to be able to step back and take a look at the bigger (more humorous) picture.

This was interesting because they said things in a not so serious way. They laughed and joked unlike other talk shows they talk all serious.

Stephen Colbert is the most brilliant man ever to be on political television... period. Stewart and him are some of the most consistent anchors on the air right now. Even if you'd like to call it faux news, simply put, it's hard to find straight news in America today.

Between Colbert's "town-hall" bit that night and Stewart's assessment last night, I'd have to say they have some of the most ingenious, ridiculous and almost terrifyingly ironic (The Daily Show's coverage of the GOP convention) insights in these past months. Spun? Spun like a tennis ball! But who REALLY thinks Fox news is "fair and balanced"?

Also, David Letterman has been on cable longer than McCain has been in the Senate and House combined... I think he MIGHT have some cultural effect on the public...

It seems as if the political system and some of the U.S. believes that McCain will put america back on track while Obama will bring us down. Most people make politics a joke but dont see our future lies in the hands of our next president. I also hate that I cant understand some politicle jokes these comidians have in mind. ):<

I absolutely love how straightforward Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart are when it comes to politics. They don't sugar-coat anything and they don't try to use their mocking of one candidate as a chance to endorse another: they make fun of both.
No matter which candidate you support, it is always hilarious to see how someone else can make fun of them and point out their flaws. In a way, it makes the candidates seem more human and gives everyone else a chance to laugh at a very serious and crucial situation.
Has anyone else seen the October 3rd issue of Entertainment Weekly? It has Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart spoofing the cover of The New Yorker's offensive take on Barack and Michelle Obama. The article that follows is very comedic, yet at the same time creates a witty truth. A lot of people on television are afraid to be honest right now. But it's good to know that there are at least two people America an look up to for political candor with humor.

People like them have no respect for the political race that's going on right now. NO. i dont think that Obama is a terrace. For them to make fun of the the two canidates is not funny. it's disrespectful.

You gotta love Late night :D I still want to know though why Palin keeps bringing up that domestic violence stuff. It's either that or Alaska.

These late night shows that twist around the debates and speeches of our political candidates are some of the funniest things to watch. A bunch of old guys hyped on coffee finding something funny in a long drawn out speech. These shows , even if it doesn't seem so, bring up ideas of the candidates and bring to the attention of many Americans the events happening in this country's politics. This makes the people curious about what's going, so they look more into the issue.

Even though these shows may not be accurate they put politics in a not so serious perspective that draws in more viewers then any regular news channel will.

i love this, i love watching this kind of entertaining videos

I thought this was funny, but Colbert is always entertaining. It's interesting how they can put a comedic twist on serious matters. Although representation of the candidates isn't really accurate, it provides comic relief in an otherwise stressful situation.

These clips are great. They make somewhat of a comic relief in all these intense debate/voting situations. I'm sure it makes some people mad but the overall intention isn't to hurt anyone.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report are the two shows that I most frequently watch in order to hear about politics. The shows, though in a satirical fashion, are both informative and humorous. I enjoy watching these shows for that very reason. Though this upcoming election should be taken seriously, the shows give us a moment to look at the candidates and laugh at their faults, which allows us to relax and see similarities between ourself and the candidates.

It's amazing to see how many things people can come up with to bring a humor to our politics. They let people see how things really are in politics, but bring a twist to them so it isn't just the same old news. I am definitely a big fan of people who poke fun at the presidental race to bring humor to it.

That was hilarious! I love it eeverybody's view of the town hall was the same! Also, I love how these shows offer a humerous view of the extremely serious presidential candidacy.

I like this kind of show because it makes politics more fun. Everybody is joking around instead of being so serious. It makes me more interested in politics.

I love shows like The Colbert Report because they can put the news in a way that is more accurate than anyone else. It's funny to think that their satire can be the closest thing to the truth.

Presidential races always cause some sort of tension as the American public wonders how their life will change under the winning candidate. As we witness the staggering rise of people watching shows like SNL,The Colbert Show, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, it's obvious all we need is a little humor to lighten up such situations.
It's refreshing to see politics twisted after all the mudslinging. I'm sure we're going to remember Tina Fey's impressions of Sarah Pallin for a long time. These shows are even educational; -to those who aren't fans-, I find I understand things better and realize what I hadn't before.

henrylawson3 said...

This was a very funny spin on the candidates. Saturday Night Live also does excellent skits of the debates and whatnot with Tina Fey acting as a better Palin than Palin sometimes. These parodies are a very good way to keep from being overwhelmed with all the politcial jargon and lobbying one is often exsposed to when trying to make an informed decision

Well the video that I have just watched was very interesting and hilarious. It might of shown the view of what people on "Late Night" have to say about the debates of the Presidency, but just put the truth in an understanding way. Which was humor. That is besides the point people are bring up the point that Obama is associating with tourist. So what that is just one thing people can use to their
advantage over some small details.
